About Fairview Christian Church

Fairview Christian Church is an Independent Non-Denominational Christian Church. Our desire is to expand the Kingdom of God and meet the needs of not only our members but also those needs of our community. The following is what Fairview Christian Church affirms as the reason to believe and serve our Lord Jesus Christ.

We Believe...

...that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins, and arose from the dead.

1 Corinthians 15:1-8

...that the Bible is the inspired Word of God.

2 Timothy 3:16

...that every person has worth as a creation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Romans 3:23

...that forgiveness of sins and the promise of eternal life are available to all those who trust Christ as Savior and Lord.

John 3:16

...that those desiring to accept Christ should repent and turn to the Lord, confess their faith and be baptized by immersion into him.

Romans 10: 9-10; Acts 2:38

...that the church is the body of Christ on earth, empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved.

Ephesians 4: 1-16

...that Jesus will one day return and reign forever as King of Kings and Lord of Lords.

1 Thessalonians 4: 13-18

Fairview Christian Church...

ascribes to the original intent of the "Restoration Movement". The movement began as people felt compelled to forsake the many creeds and traditions the church of the time offered. In its initial stage it was considered the "Unity Movement". This movement was a plea to return to New Testament principles of unity based upon God's Word, and restoration of the New Testament church.

The following are key phrases of the "Restoration Movement". The brief statement underlined is how Fairview Christian Church in corporates the stated phrase.

  • "Where the scriptures speak we speak, where the scriptures are silent, we are silent".

God's Word, the Bible, is set forth as ourguide to come to Christ and standard for our lives.

  • "In essentials unity, in nonessentials liberty, in all things charity".

We strive to agree on the fundamental issues concerning God and allow for variety in regard to issues God has given freedom. However, the under girding principle of our relationship with all is love as we have been loved.

  • "We have no creed but Christ".

Christ is our standard by which we strive to live. We do not hold any individual or group as our standard.

  • "We are free to differ but not to divide".

We encourage individual opinions on issues. We welcome discussions from various perspectives on matters. However, we strive to keep a cohesive bond grounded in the love of God.

  • "We are Christians only, but not the only Christians".

We strive to be simply Christians, Christ-like, nothing more and nothing less. We acknowledge that anyone can come to a relationship with God. We celebrate with all who have died to sin and live new lives in Christ.

Our Goal...

Our goal at Fairview Christian Church is to imitate the New Testament Church. We will exist as a non-denoninational, self-governing body of believers. We select from among ourselves and ordain men above reproach, as directed by New Testament Scriptures to serve the body of believers as elders. These men, along with our ministerial staff, are shepherds who will guide, guard, and feed the body of believers spiritually.

We at Fairview Christian Church exist for one reason. To Serve One Lord, as One Team, for One Purpose by building Bridges from where people are to where Christ wants them to be.

We at Fairview Christian Church strive to reach out to the varied needs of the people of our community to bring them comfort, fellowship, strength, and hope through Jesus Christ.

Our History...

Fairview Christian Church began having worship service on March 27,1955. From the first service in the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Wood, located on (Fairview street to the current location located on Highway 61, Festus, Missouri, mem, women and children have found a firm foundation directing them in God's purpose for their lives. There also have been many who have stepped through the doors of Fairview Christian Church that have continued to serve in different ministries and mission's through-out the world.

Our Furture...

It is a responsibility and privilege to be part of the Lord's church here on earth. By God's grace, Fairview Christian Church will prayerfully continue to have a God-honoring and Christ-obeying work to do in our community, the region and the world.
